We are thrilled to announce the successful installation and presentation of the Cave3 project at the renowned Noesis Science Center & Technology Museum. Developed through a collaborative effort between POLYTECH SA, the CERTH Institute of Bio-Economy, the Ministry of Culture & Sports, DRAXIS Environmental, and Polyptychon Cultural Services, the Cave3 project marks a significant leap forward in the realm of virtual reality exploration.
Initiated under the ESPA 2014-2020 “Research-Create-Innovate” business program, the Cave3 project is a testament to the power of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. On Friday, April 21, 2023, the virtual reality system was officially unveiled at the Noesis center in Thermi, Thessaloniki, bringing the ancient cave of Petralona in Halkidiki to life in stunning detail.
At its core, the Cave3 system serves as an educational tool, designed to engage students and enthusiasts alike in the exploration of archaeological and paleontological wonders. Through an interactive fossil preservation lab application and an online game, users are invited to immerse themselves in the rich history and scientific discoveries unearthed within the cave of Petralona.
The trial run of the Cave3 system at the Noesis Center is set to continue until the end of August 2023, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the cutting-edge technology firsthand. Following its tenure at the museum, the system will find its permanent home at the Halkidiki Petralona Museum, ensuring that future generations have access to this invaluable resource.
As we look towards the future, the Cave3 project stands as a shining example of innovation in action. By harnessing the power of virtual reality, we have unlocked new pathways for exploration and discovery, bridging the gap between the ancient past and the digital age.
Join us on this extraordinary journey as we delve deep into the heart of Petralona cave, unraveling its mysteries one virtual step at a time. The Cave3 project invites you to embark on an adventure unlike any other, where the boundaries of time and space are mere illusions in the face of human curiosity and ingenuity.
Experience the wonder of the Cave3 project today and witness history come to life in breathtaking detail. Welcome to the future of exploration. Welcome to Cave3.
