ICARUS Multimode Digital Telecom Node

The ICARUS Multimode Digital Telecom Node is part of the LHP 4000 Advanced Telecommunications Lab.

ICARUS Digital Communications Laboratory

The ICARUS Laboratory provides advanced training in state-of-the-art digital telecommunications for communication technicians and engineers. It is a comprehensive, compact, and modern educational solution tailored for teaching digital telecom technologies.

Each ICARUS node enables the configuration and operation of various digital communication systems, including Fast and Gigabit Ethernet, routers, switches, bridges, wireless LANs, and mobile networks (GSM, 3G, 4G, 5G). Multiple interconnected nodes allow the creation of flexible LAN, WAN, and Mobile Antenna WAN setups, supporting real-world network scenarios and test-beds for hands-on student experimentation.

The laboratory can be customized for training across multiple telecom subjects, making it an ideal platform for modern digital communications education.

This node is a versatile, remotely programmable and manageable telecom device. Key user-configurable modes include:

  • LAN Router, Switch, Bridge
  • Wireless LAN Router
  • Wireless WAN (2.8 GHz and 5.0 GHz)

It supports a variety of modern network equipment, from 10/100/Gigabit Ethernet routers, switches, and bridges to wireless LAN and mobile network antennas.
