Introduction to ICARUS
ICARUS is a state-of-the-art, integrated laboratory solution in the digital telecommunications sector. It is composed of three primary modules:
- ICARUS Multimode Digital Telecom Node

This node is a versatile, remotely programmable and manageable telecom device. Key user-configurable modes include:

ICARUS EDS – Educational Software Application
ICARUS EDS (Educational Software Application) is a Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) system, allowing students to perform all their activities and classroom interactions via PC. It features:
- IDEA (Integrated Digital Educational Application): Integral to the laboratory, available in two levels, 1 & 2.
- Hands-on Training: Focused on practical issues of networking systems, network operation, and management challenges.
- Experimentation and Learning: Students learn network architecture and protocols by conducting experiments in a real telecommunication test-bed using the ICARUS node.
