POLYTECH Announces Approval of Research Project “Physical Education Learning BOX” in Partnership with the University of Thessaly

LARISSA, March 17, 2026POLYTECH S.A. is pleased to announce the approval of its collaborative research project, “The Physical Education Learning BOX,” under the framework of “Business Partnerships with Research Organizations” within the “Thessaly 2021–2027” Operational Program.

The proposal received a high evaluation score and was officially approved (Decision No. 94940), highlighting its scientific excellence and significant social and educational impact.

Innovation and Technology in Education

Spanning a 24-month duration, the project focuses on developing a state-of-the-art tool for measuring and evaluating physical activity within the school environment. The innovative system integrates:

  • Motion sensor technologies for precise data collection.
  • Custom digital applications for activity monitoring and assessment.
  • Engagement-driven software designed to increase student participation in physical exercise.

Strategic Partnership

The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science (DPESS) of the University of Thessaly, with Professor Yannis Giakas serving as the Scientific Supervisor and Coordinator. This partnership leverages a multidisciplinary approach involving biomechanics, pedagogy, and information technology.
